Meetings

I hate 'em. Absolutely, and completely. Meetings are the life preserver of the self important and uninformed, at least most places I've worked.

Meetings rarely start on time, and even more rarely finish on time.

The only thing worse in my mind, are training sessions. The penultimate? Online training sessions, with a conference call dial in, to listen to the questions.

Blech. Sat through one today that lasted an hour when it could have been covered by a 1 page document. Even better... I figured the same thing out last week on my own, and sent around said 1 page document.

It really amazes me that companies ever get anything accomplished.

lovely, she says in her most sarcastic of tones. of course, you realize you have teachers and people who write training stuff who read your blog, right? insulting bastard. as ever... ;)

hey, when did you change your blog name? i'll have you know, you're not the king of bedside manor. in fact, you hardly ever live there anymore.

Hey, I write training stuff too... my entire last job consited of training related stuff.

It's my issue with the corporate "training" mindset. These people aren't qualified to lead a half dozen 30 year olds on a bathroom break, let alone try and impart knowledge on anyone.

Just changed it today... heard the song, and thought it would be a good change.

And I do, in fact, live there now. I'm having a sign made.

you should have meeting first to inform people of said signage change and to vote on the font.

Amen. I am trying to avoid one of those very same stupid meetings this week, by just getting the info taken care of by email. I have no idea *why* we have to waste our time on meetings that do absolutely nothing!! *Sigh*...I really could rant for hours about meetings - thank you for putting it so very concisely. :-)
